SYNOPSIS
Raksha Shakti University (RSU) located in Gandhinagar being accorded the status of ‘Institute of National Importance’ and upgraded as Rashtriya Raksha University (RRU).
The institute will grant degrees, diploma as nationalized recognised university.

Objective and Functions of the University

- Promote and providing Public Safety
- To provide instructions and research in the field of security, law enforcement, criminal justice, coastal policing, cybersecurity, cyber-crime, artificial intelligence and associated areas of internal security and public safety
Infrastructure at par for both training and education
The infrastructure for police and security of India will have a full-fledged Training, Research, Extension and Education (TREE) system.

Currently, there are only few institutions in the country which provide the environment, infrastructure and specialization for imparting education in police sciences and internal security to meet the demands of modern, citizen-centric policing.
Also, there is a need to develop perspectives, undertake research and impart knowledge in the domain of policing and allied areas to the youth aspiring to join police and security forces at national level
